Food good. Plenty to drink. Hotel* wonderful. Weather pish!

Sums up my 5-day endurance test away to T in the Park 2010 perfectly. Yes, I’ve been on a wee holiday folks, so apologies for the lack of FHJ posts.

There’s not a lot been happening in the land of Trashcan memorabilia, but I did come across these two postcards from way back in 1993. These were sent out to fans on the mailing list updating them on what the band were up to.

The first one is for the release of second album ‘I’ve Seen Everything’ and the second one is for the release of the single of the same name. This one also includes some tour dates.

…only if you look hard enough that is – the rare sight of the sample CD for fourth album, ‘Weightlifting’.

The little white squares on the reverse of the inlay card would have been numbered to indicate which tracks were included – 5 or 6 songs normally. This copy had no indication of how many were included, but when I popped it into the old CD player – 12 tracks were duly displayed. A ‘Brucie’ bonus don’t you think.

The band photography was by Colin Dunsmuir and the sleeve was designed by Kevin Hobbs.

Free CDs with newspapers and magazines always tend to be a mixed bag, but this one from the Scotland on Sunday is magic.

The Trashcan’s ‘Morning Star’ is sandwiched in-between King Creosote and Frightened Rabbit which is no bad thing. Other artists (they’re all Scottish by the way) include Franz Ferdinand, Teenage Fanclub, Emma Pollock, Sons & Daughters, Arab Strap and We Were Promised Jetpacks.

The perfect start to a Sunday morning don’t you think?

“My arse…” I hear you say.

Judging by the tracklisting you’d be right. I have no idea where this CD came from and neither it seems does my old friend Google.

All I can tell you is that the Trashcans’ ‘Only Tongue Can Tell’ is the only track, in my opinion, to achieve pass marks, although Paul Weller’s ‘Sunflower’ would probably make it onto the old iPod.

Apart from that, it’s a pretty poor compilation.

Fine tunes? My arse indeed.
