Mermaid In A Bottle

HOMESPUN is a new project combining the art work of Maree Hughes and music by Trashcans bass player Davy Hughes. Maree is a full time artist based at WASPS Courtyard Studios in Irvine, on the West Coast of Scotland, specialising in drawing, painting and printmaking.

With the help of Creative Scotland, Maree and Davy sent out an SOS to the world aiming to raise money to purchase new studio equipment, to produce quality images and enable production of a 4-track digital audiovisual EP.

Within a few hours of the project going live Maree and Davy’s first goal had been achieved allowing them to offer up a number of rewards including, original prints & artwork, early access to animations & new music, with contributions from other members of Trashcan Sinatras.

You can still make a pledge here – but be quick as it ends on the 14th of September.

Here’s an original Lino cut called Mermaid In A Bottle, which was hand delivered by Davy. Typically, I wasn’t in and never got to personally thank him – so, thanks Davy.
