‘Select’ was a UK music magazine of the 1990s which was particularly known for covering Britpop. The magazine launched in October 1990 and folded a decade later in 2000, mirroring the rise and decline of the Britpop scene with which it became synonymous.

Here’s a cassette given away free with the May 1996 issue, which includes a track from the Trashcans – the mislabeled ‘Pop Palace’.

Note: All bands – with the exception of the Trashcans – are printed on the front cover.

Typical eh?

Canadian release of ‘I’ve Seen Everything’. Unfortunately this is not the original casing, I stood on that – oops!

Not to worry though, the cassette plays like new.

3-track cassette EP with ‘Who’s He?’ and ‘The Best Man’s Fall’.

Although this was on the Go! Discs label, the cassette and the J-card are printed with Go! Records Ltd. Same label though.

J-card has the lyrics printed on the inside. I’m sure that’s Paul on the front cover. I’ve no idea what he is doing.

With the invention of CDs and now digital downloads – don’t cassettes look funny?

2-track release with ‘Useless’. Picture sleeve, but no lyrics. Cassette plays the same both sides.

14-track cassette with full colour picture sleeve complete with original picture/lyrics fold-out.

The cassette states ‘Made in Netherlands’, so this could be an import.

A favourite Trashcans album.
